Green Bay Packers Al Harris best interception

4 years after creating one of the most unforgettable plays in Green Bay Packers playoff history, Al Harris stepped at a press conference this week and categorically declared he wouldn't answer the questions about it. But he did, of course.

In Packer country, Al Harris is known for intercepting a Matt Hasselbeck pass and running fifty-two yards in extra time to beat the Seattle Seahawks (33-27) in game back in 2004. Seattle and Hasselbeck announced that “we want the ball, and we’re going to score”. This statement wound up being spread on national TV. They are returning to Lambeau Field on Saturday for a National Football Conference divisional playoff. And the genial Al Harris covered questions about the interception as dexterously as he handles wideouts. His reputation as one of the best cover corners developed from that play in Green Bay’s last playoff triumph, and culminated this season in his first Pro Bowl selection.

Harris, 33 yrs, is the oldest starter on a defense that shares credit for the Green Bay Packers’ 13-3 regular season record with Brett Favre and the super powered offense. The defense will be loaded with slowing Deion Branch. This guy returns after missing two games with a right calf strain, and the offense of Coach Mike Holmgren.

Although Harris and Aaron Kampman are the Packers’ only defensive Pro Bowlers, alternates included Woodson, linebackers Nick Barnett and A. J. Hawk and free safety Nick Collins.

A freshman starter, Atari Bigby had 4 of his team-leading 5 interceptions in December. Atari Bigby may not be far behind. Woodson, the only other starter over 30, had 4 interceptions. Coach Mike McCarthy announced Woodson missed practice Wednesday with knee and toe soreness but he should play.
